You probably already know how powerful the right mindset is in determining your day’s outcome, your accomplishments, your attitude and well, pretty much everything starts and ends with our mindset. I know social media and the news as well as everyday events can overwhelm my thoughts and cause me to doubt God’s plan. It gets loud fast when I let it. If I’m not careful, I will even talk more about and focus conversation around what’s going wrong based on what I hear from OTHER SOURCES.
One of the ways that I try to practice taking my thoughts captive and staying in a faith mindset is reading the word creating time for prayer and meditation… but don’t forget declarations. They are a powerful way of speaking his word over ourselves. There are several places in in the bible that talk about declaring and decreeing.
Job 22:28 “You will also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee”. Proverbs 18:21 Life and death are in the power of the tongue. And one of my personal favorites is where David says I will declare the decree of the Lord…(Psalm 2:7 AMPC)
We have ears to hear and eyes to see even beyond what is going on around us. When we are declaring (proclaiming, speaking outloud) we are aligning ourselves with what God is speaking and doing. Like a re calibration going on inside! We are agreeing with God and reminding ourselves about who He says I am and what He is free to do in and through me.
Practical application:
One of the first declarations that I began with was simply:
“God desires to and will do GREAT THINGS for me, to me and through me today in Jesus name.” I printed it out on a piece of card stock and stuck in several places around the house and in my car. It’s amazing how just the number of times it caught my attention built a new level of consistency in my thinking. I began to notice things I hadn’t before. My awareness of His presence and my participation caused me to THINK Differently, expect different outcomes and surprisingly HEAR Him with more clarity.
So today I share this simple declaration and ask you to join me in speaking this out loud over yourself today. ( Repeat as necessary)
Declaration: I am the Beloved, and He is mine. Holy Spirit empowers me to be a source of the Lord’s love everywhere I go today.
